Jason Santiago

   My name is Jason and I believe that I would be an ideal candidate for a designer position at your company. I consider myself to be very detail oriented, highly responsible, and a team player with willingness to learn and work towards the improvement of the company I represent, my clients, and myself. I have a significant degree of experience in web and print design, especially in Flexography and Pre-press. In recent years, I have worked as a Pre-press designer, where not only was I able to work with label and logo designs, but also was in charge of proofreading, translation, promotions and merchandise as well. In my previous employment, I obtained the position of Head Graphic Designer at San Miguel Label Mfg., to one of Puerto Rico’s major label producers. My freelance work has been mostly related to educational purposes, which include as promotional posters, diplomas, school activity invitations, etc. as most of my former coworkers have reached out to help them create educational material.

​  Hence I am applying for this position, principally because I truly believe that my skills and knowledge can be an asset to the company and a great opportunity for personal growth. Before becoming a Designer, I worked as an ESL teacher in both private and public schools in Puerto Rico. I had great experiences as a teacher, but decided to continue studies in graphic design since it Art & Technology have always been a true passion for me. As a designer, I am believe in continuous learning and I try to stay up to date with the latest artistic and design trends, and search for opportunities to improve my skills. As a person, I try to be an example for my family and have always been the type of person try to lend a helping hand whenever I can. I am proficient in many computer software programs, including the Adobe Creative Suite, and the Microsoft Office Suite, both on iOS and Windows. I possess excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish, and I have learned to use the skills developed as teacher to help me deal with difficult situations and clients. I have had significant experiences representing my employer’s business over the years, and even assisted most of them with marketing strategies for e-commerce activities. Proficiente en la producción, diseño y corrección de etiquetas, al igual que el desarrollo de logos y empaques. Adicionalmente, tengo significante experiencia con programas de procesamiento de datos y de diseño. Llevo más de 12 años trabajando con programas de Microsoft Office, como Word, Excel, Power Point, y Outlook; y alrededor de 8 años manejando programas de Adobe Suite, como Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, After Effects y Dreamweaver. 

En 2019 completé mi grado de Maestría en Diseño Gráfico.
