    The Global Engineering & Technical Center in Puerto Rico is looking for motivated candidates to join our team of Technical Writers . The ideal candidate will have the task to research, analyze, and translate technical information into government manuals and other documents for non-technical and technical users. Will also establish and maintain internal and external company contacts for RTX Collins Aerospace equipment and/or specific platform subject matter experts.

    This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, and create publication development for one or more type of documents with a moderate level of complexity using established procedures.
  • Self-directed or provide guidance to team members on a specific publication product by considered a specialist or a generalist in multiple publication products.
  • Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.
  • Obtain and analyze engineering source data utilized for product development.
  • May prepare product outlines and estimates to support product development and planning.
  • Be accountable for the cost, quality, and timely delivery of all work assignments.
  • Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understand and comprehend system operation from typical engineering documentation (schematics, mechanical drawings, software specifications, hardware interface specifications, and equipment specifications).
  • Experience maintaining, using, or designing aircraft equipment.
  • Component level electronics skills and/or recent experience.
  • Experience in Operator Level, Intermediate Level and/or Depot Level maintenance documentation.
  • Knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware and software.
  • Knowledge using MS Office programs such as: Word, PowerPoint & Excel
  • Knowledge of Military Writing Specifications.
  • Experience in writing or system level knowledge.
  • Experience producing electronic technical data.
  • Experience in ATA-2200, Military Specifications and/or S1000D documentation.
  • Simplified Technical English (ASD/AECMA version) documentation experience.
  • Former military experience preferred.
