    Collins Aerospace Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico is looking for Project Engineer to join our Power & Controls organization. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver like you with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.

    In this role you will lead and oversee engineering activities associated with design, development, qualification, and production support for Engine Control Systems Product line of Power & Controls. The role will involve supporting the planning phase for the different CAMs as well as understanding the most efficient way to track and communicate execution. As Project Engineer you will communicate with the program IPT and other members of the team to provide support. This support may include preparing schedules, coordinating, and monitoring the performance and execution of the tasks to ensure they adhere to their budget.

    This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with CAMs to ensure schedules and costs are accurate and comprehensive and include milestones, deliverables, dependencies, predecessors, successors, lag time, and all other pertinent MS Project data.
  • Meet with the project team weekly to manage project performance, status, open issues, and tasks.
  • Conduct critical path analysis and work closely with the IPT to manage tasks and workflow.
  • Contribute to the identification of barriers and risk factors that may inhibit or impede the project.
  • Support the project in baseline and change control and effectively communicate issues CIPT.
  • Maintain and provide analysis of trends, performance analysis, resource cost and forecasting reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines and internal processes and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of scheduling, monitoring, and reporting of projects.
  • Effectively communicate and present to engineering, management and the customer.
  • Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Aerospace Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project 2013 and MS Excel
  • Experience with electronics or digital controls
  • Experience with planning arbitration and adjudication across IPTs
  • Experience with recovery planning and workaround facilitation
  • Experience with working multiple schedules in parallel.
  • Competent computer skills with the ability to learn new programs/software easily
  • Experience with resource loading, identifying, and resolving over-allocations and resource reporting in MS Project
  • Experience with cost & schedule integration
  • Understanding of Project Management Theory and Concepts
  • Product Life Cycle Knowledge including Systems, Hardware, Software, and Mechanical disciplines.
  • EVMS, including earned value and performance management.
  • Life Cycle Management experience/knowledge
  • Agile methodologies experience/knowledge
