    Job Title: Food Safety Specialist
    Job Function: Assist in the development and implementation of the company food safety system to comply with the Food Safety System Certification (FSSC ).
    Job Type: Full time contract
    Location: On-site Toa Baja, PR

    Scope of Job

    The purpose of this exercise is to identify the existing risks, compliance gaps of key regulations related to get the Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) of our client manufacturing site.

    The goal is to define and deploy an implementation plan for achieving compliance with applicable FSSC regulations to prepare our client for audit and/or certification requirements.

    Primary Responsibilities
  • The specialist may work in various capacities, including: Implementation : Assisting organizations in implementing FSSC requirements. Auditing : Conducting internal audits to ensure compliance. Training : Training employees on food safety practices. Documentation : Managing documentation related to FSSC . Risk Assessment : Identifying and mitigating food safety risks.
  • Qualifications
  • Food Safety Knowledge : Specialists should have a solid understanding of food safety principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Certification Expertise : Familiarity with the FSSC certification process, including documentation, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Industry Experience : Practical experience in food manufacturing, processing, or related fields.
  • Auditing Skills : Knowledge of auditing techniques and the ability to assess compliance with FSSC standards.
  • Communication Skills : Effective communication is essential for collaborating with teams, management, and certification bodies.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities : Specialists often encounter complex scenarios related to food safety, and the ability to find solutions is crucial.
  • Certification and Training : Training : Attend relevant training programs or workshops on FSSC . Certification : Obtain certification as an auditor or lead implementer for FSSC (a must). Continuous Learning : Stay updated on changes in standards and regulations.
  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in science or related discipline and at least five years performing related work.
