    Collins Aerospace Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico is looking for Project Engineer to join our Power & Controls organization. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver like you with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.

    In this role you will oversee engineering activities associated with design, development, qualification, and production support for Environmental & Airframe Control Systems Product line. You will also support hardware issues and improvements after program development and entry into service.

    This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and coordinate Class 1 and Class II engineering changes and deviations utilizing the Collins Configuration Control Board process
  • Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) part level ownership including communication, risk management and project requirements
  • Present to Engineering and Program Management as well as Customer representatives
  • Coordinate design changes with customers (Internal and External) and suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and execute several complex tasks
  • Drive cost reduction projects
  • Analyze component reliability metrics for improvement opportunities
  • Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Aerospace Engineering is preferred.
  • Teamcenter, MS Project, PowerPoint and Excel experience
  • Experience working across a highly matrixed organization, including team members, suppliers, and customers
  • Experience with task detail planning, budget planning and project execution
  • Component testing experience
  • Experience with Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA)
  • Continuous Improvement training or experience.
  • Experience with identifying critical chokepoints in processes and develop analytics to support.
