Position is virtual with travel to the IITF planned.

Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience OR BA/BS Degree in Agriculture, natural resources, agronomy or a related field of study.

• Professional Engineer (PE), licensed in GA (RO location). Certified Erosion & Sedimentation Control Design Professional Level II. Past certification or equivalent: Certified Project Management Professional by the PMI, Contracting Officer's Representative (COR/COTR)
• Licensed International Code Council Inspector for Buildings, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing, and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, Accredited Professional (LEED AP). Engineer with knowledge, skills, and abilities in USDA Acquisition Operating Procedures (AOP);
• Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel

Supports all aspects of developing, issuing, and administering various types of IITF engineering contracts. Inspects and evaluates construction projects. Is assisted by, and mentors, engineering technicians. Assists with the preparation of designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems and resolves performance and design issues. Assists with arranging for the fabrication of pilot models and determines test procedures and design of special test equipment. Assures services are compliant with FAR, AGAR, FSAR, FSM, FSH, building codes, OSHA, and other environmental and related Agency appropriation laws and regulations.

• Supports the writing and reviewing of Performance Work Statements, Statements of Work, and Statements of Objectives. Provides professional support for requirement packages, including market research and independent Government cost estimates. Supports the preparation of contract packages.
  Assists with the establishment of an engineering contract filing system and ensures that all necessary information is organized and captured. 40%
• Inspects construction projects including all required documentation for COR's approval. Assists wth the planning and accomplishing of complete projects or studies of broad scope and complexity. 20%
• Provides advice on unusual or controversial problems or policy matters; completed work is reviewed for compliance with overall project objectives. Mentors lower-level technicians. 20%
• Assists with the preparation of designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems and resolves performance and design issues. Assists with the fabrication of pilot models and determines test procedures and design of special test equipment. 20%

• Yes, computer information security awareness training.
• Travel Requirements: Travel to forest and district units and to project sites as needed.
• Overnight travel: Subject to change, but likely to be monthly.
• Air travel anticipated: Subject to change, but likely to be monthly.
• Rental cars: Rental cars are authorized. Frequency is likely monthly.
• Physical requirements: Sitting, walking, and ability to hike/walk to project sites in field settings and in outdoor
